I Feel Air Pockets Inside My Breasts. Is That Normal?

Any unusual incidence after a breast augmentation surgery can be alarming. It, understandably, stresses many patients. This is especially so when they hear gurgling noises coming from inside their breasts.

Why Do Air Pockets Form After Breast Augmentation Surgery?

Air pockets form when air gets trapped in tissues or area around the implants. They can feel very odd since when you massage your breasts after the surgery, you can hear this unusual gurgling sound. Air pockets after breast surgery are very common, and they are nothing to worry about.

Incisions are made for inserting the implants during breast augmentation surgery. During that, air can get trapped inside the body. With the liquid antibiotics also sloshing around inside your breasts, the sound can make anyone feel concerned. You might even end up questioning the expertise of your surgeon.

Initially, the breast implants will take some time to settle down inside the breast tissue. During the early phases of the healing process, you’ll feel the implant moving around. You can also feel the air pockets. If the skin on your chest is thin, you’ll feel this sensation more than others.

So, Air Pockets Are Normal?
