At Longevita, we will provide you with the necessary aftercare instructions after the surgery. You should make sure to thoroughly read them and follow them in order to achieve your desired results.
Importantly, you need to wear the support garment that we will provide you as it will improve the contours of your body and help in shaping your new body. You need to wear it for at least 6-8 weeks after the liposuction.
Other than that, you need to avoid drinking alcohol while you’re also taking the pain medications and antibiotics. If you’re in the habit of smoking, you need to quit smoking for at least 2 weeks after the surgery. It can slow down the healing process.
Keep an eye on what you’re eating and drinking. After having liposuction, you need to eat healthy to maintain the results of your surgery. You should try having light meals after the general anaesthesia as you can feel nauseous and even vomit. Try to drink several glasses of water each day after the surgery.
VASER liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure. After the surgery, you’ll need to rest for at least 12 hours. This doesn’t mean that you’ll be up and running soon after. It will take around 2-3 weeks for you to get better. During this time, you should avoid doing any exercise or performing any other strenuous activity. Here too, you’ll have to wait for at least 3-4 months before you can resume your normal activities.
We encourage you to start walking as soon as possible. The blood circulation will help reduce the swelling. Moreover, it will decrease the chances of the formation of blood clots. You’ll most likely feel tired in the beginning. So, you shouldn’t exert your body. Try to walk for a few minutes and then increase the duration every day. Take things slowly. It’s important that you give your body a chance to rest.
Also, two weeks after the surgery, you should start massaging the surgical site gently. Do these massages twice a week for a whole month. It will also help you to heal faster. For some time, the surgeon will ask you to not do any exercise. However, once you can, you should support your recovery process by exercising regularly.
Keep in mind that some patients find it difficult to stand up after the surgery for a few days to sometimes a week. If you feel tired or are unable to get up, lie down and rest. Moving around too much is also risky as you might undo the stitches, making the surgical site bleed. Try to stay calm.
